Tassels are a unique way to completely change the overall image of a simple balloon. Rather than tying the balloon to an ordinary piece of curling ribbon, making these beautiful and custom designed tassels are a sure way to make a huge impact at your next event. What's cool about these tassels is that they are unique in every way, starting from the materials used and the colors chosen. These tassels will be completely customized to your liking!
Consider using tissue paper or even plastic tablecovers. Choose a variety of shades and colours to match your theme. Follow the simple steps below and you'll have yourself a DIY balloon tassel!
1. Stack all of the tissue paper on top of one another, lining up all the edges.
2. Fold the stack in half, and fold once more.
3. Use scissors to cut random slits into the side of tissue paper without the fold.
4. Open up the tissue paper to its original state and cut it in half.
5. Take the sheets apart and roll each sheet up so that the slits are on opposite sides of one another.
6. Take the middle portion of each rolled tassel and fold it in half around the twine and twist.
7. Repeat with each piece of tissue paper and rotate colours as per your preference.
8. Attach twine to the neck of the balloon and let tassel hang downwards.
In this post we'll describe the essential disposable supplies you'll need, and how to coordinate the items and colors to match your theme. The beauty of decorating your event should be to showcase or accent the colours. Try to avoid over doing it by using all the supplies and decor as the same color.
Start off by choosing a beautiful printed napkin. Something that has a cool design and coordinates with your theme. Now, take your printed napkin and match a corresponding solid colour plate. We want to enhance the beauty of the print you have chosen so we're going to add mostly solid color supplies and just one or two of the items to be printed. Below you'll find a list of the disposable items you may need for your event.
-Dinner Plates, Appetizer Plate, Dessert Plate
-Dinner Napkins, Luncheon Napkins, Cocktail Napkins
-Forks, Spoons, Knives
-Hot/Cold Cups, Wine Cups, Champagne Flutes, Margarita Cups
-Tablecovers, Tablecover Clips
Back to the selection of colors and prints, I recommend 1-2 items being the same print, for example a tablecover and napkin and everything else be a matching solid color. If you really love color, you can even incorporate two solid colors that correspond nicely with the print design you've chosen.
On a more economical level, I recommend using some items in clear so that if you end up having leftover pieces you can always match them to your next event theme. The items that I find look best in clear are plastic cups and cutlery. Definately use a color plate, napkin and tablecover to make your theme stand out!
]]>Wondering how to set up the buffet table properly at your upcoming event? Buffet tables are awesome, and they work wonders when you're limited on space or have a large guest count. But, failing to set up the table in the correct fashion can end up defeating the entire purpose of choosing the buffet-style!
Start the beginning of the buffet table with a stack of heavy duty plates. always like plastic plates as they tend to be more sturdy than paper, but this can depend on preference and what types if foods you're serving. The end of the buffet table should hold the cutlery and napkins. Allowing this type of set up will ensure your guests have their hands free to serve themselves with one hand while holding their plate with the other, Once they've filled their plates they are free to grab the cutlery and napkins as needed without dropping anything!
It's easy to serve the utensils in glass mason jars, or even color coordinated plastic jars to keep the table neat and it's a great space saver. Another alternative is to wrap the utensils in the napkin and wrap it up for guests to pick up everything they need in one go,
Lastly, separate the drinks and corresponding cups on a different table. This avoids spills or accidents near the food buffet and allows people to move around freely.
The best part about choosing disposable tableware is that it's an easy clean up! No dishes or mess are left behind. The buffet table conserves space, it's easy to set up and even looks great when using heavy duty disposables.
